Who We Are

Cornerstone Bible Church is a non-denominational fellowship of believers from many different backgrounds. We’re united by our faith in Jesus Christ and welcome all followers of Christ into our community—regardless of denominational history, race, or ethnicity.

How We Are Led

We’re guided by a team of elders—both lay leaders and qualified staff—who work together in unity to shepherd and equip the church. No major decision moves forward without full agreement among the elders, ensuring that leadership is balanced and Christ-centered.

Deacons serve alongside the elders, each overseeing specific ministry areas with freedom to lead while also advising church leadership. Elders and deacons serve for as long as they are willing and biblically qualified, providing stability and depth to our leadership.

How You Give

Since 1971, CBC has not passed an offering plate. Instead, giving boxes are located in the auditorium and foyer. You can also give online or through the mail.

We encourage generous giving as an act of worship, with all ministries supported through one Operating Fund—so that we serve together rather than compete for resources. We follow conservative budgeting, spending only what the Lord provides through His people.

Give
Our Faith in Action
  • Every Member Has Spiritual Gifts – We believe every believer is gifted by the Holy Spirit to serve and encouraged to use those spiritual gifts in ministry.

  • Christian Education – The home is the primary place for spiritual training, and the church comes alongside with classes, programs, and electives for all ages.

  • Evangelism – We share Christ through our daily lives and biblical preaching. Services are designed primarily to strengthen believers while welcoming inquirers to explore faith.

  • Ordinances – We practice believer’s baptism by immersion, while recognizing other modes if administered to believers. The Lord’s Supper is observed monthly and open to all followers of Christ.

  • Weddings – Weddings at CBC require at least one person to be a member in good standing, with a minimum of four months of premarital counseling.

Our Story

Cornerstone Bible Church began in the summer of 1971 when two Dallas Theological Seminary graduates, Tim Craterand Doug McIntosh, came to Atlanta with a shared vision for ministry. What started as two home Bible studies quickly grew into a church family—meeting first in the basement of a member’s home, then moving to schools and rented spaces as God expanded the congregation.

From our early days in Tucker and Decatur, God led us to plant daughter churches—including Dunwoody Community Church in 1974—and eventually help establish five more congregations across the Southeast. In 1983 we settled in Stone Mountain for nearly two decades, before relocating to Lilburn. In 2000, we became Cornerstone Bible Church, and in 2002 we moved into our current facility.

After faithfully shepherding CBC for over 43 years, Pastor Doug passed the leadership baton to Pastor Peter O’Neill in January 2018. Today, Pastor Peter continues our long-standing passion: to teach God’s truth faithfully and equip believers to become mature disciples of Jesus Christ.

We’re excited for the future and invite you to be part of the next chapter God is writing in the story of Cornerstone Bible Church.
